It was really nice to look at the graph showing the number of visits to the website each month, which shows a steady increase from 620 in January to 1,225 in December (always a popular month for the website!). In addition to providing information locally it certainly provides a contact base for ex-, occasional or current members of the congregation living abroad, although most of you will realise why we had 118 visits from someone residing in the Netherlands! We also welcomed visitors from (amongst others) the Czech Republic, Australia, France, Poland, Mexico and someone from the Keeling Islands…

The policy is very much that the web site is an additional way of viewing information – all that you find on the web site is also published in a “paper” format, mostly in the Sheet sheet, but also in the Rock, the Pompey Chimes, on noticeboards etc. so if you don’t have access to the web site you are not necessarily missing out. The PCC is extremely cautious about publishing personal details and so we avoid house and telephone numbers (unless these are already freely available on the internet, for instance on the diocesan web site).

The website has been updated on a regular basis, usually Friday evenings when the Sheet sheet has been completed, but our commitment is to do so at least fortnightly. The front page always says when the web site was last updated and each page has an individual date too, so you can be sure how up-to-date the information is! If you do spot anything that is out-of-date then do please let us know! If you have material you would like to get on to the website you should send it to Dave, so we can ensure that paper copies will also be available!
