Servers:
Claire Milner-Smith - Head Server
As servers our main role is to assist the clergy before, during and after the main communion services. It is our duty to try and make sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.
Sadly this year we lost the services of Vicky Horne as she left to start university life. We wish her well in her studies and thank her for her service during the last few years. However, we were delighted when Georgina Horne decided she would like to join us and replace her sister.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has been apart of the serving team over the last year and for enabling the rota to run efficiently.
We are always on the look out for more volunteers to join us, it is not an onerous task so if you would like to find out what really happens in the vestry before and after services we would love to hear from you!

Sacristan: Heather Bird Team Sheila Bowler, Vera Carter, Daphne Clarke, Jane Fuller, Jean Greenhill, Joan Wearn, Deardrie Wells The surplus linen and vestments were offered to the Pilsdon Community to help set up the chapel in the new house they opened in February in Oban in Scotland. They are extremely grateful for the gift.
Some repair work has been carried out on the wear and tear of vestments and linen and some new purificators made.
Personal gifts of communion wine have all been gratefully received. These gifts have now eliminated the need to use church funds to to pay for the communion wine that we use in the year.
Thank you everyone.Welcomers:
Eric Gorvin (Head Welcomer)I first began ‘Sidesman’ duties when Sheet was part of Petersfield and Ron Grainger was Vicar. Four Priests, three Vicars and numerous Churchwardens later I find myself as ‘Welcomer’ Team Leader.
When my wife and I served as Sidespersons on the 3rd Sunday at 10.30am we merely arrived in time, gave out Prayer Books, Psalters and Ancient & Modern hymn books, and took the collection.
Now, Welcomers are expected to arrive 45 minutes early, follow a check list of ‘things to do’ and deal with a number of leaflets, including the Order of Service, a Hymn Sheet, the Sheet Sheet and monthly PACT newsletter etc. After the service these leaflets are sorted, some stored, some recycled, kneelers are replaced on the pews, everything tidied up or put away. We have many more communicants and other style services such as the Laying on of Hands, a Choir in Green, instead of Blue, more enthusiastic Welcomers. Additional duties this year have been the need for a Welcomer to support the Verger at Funeral giving a more ‘homely’ touch to what is a sad occasion.
I thank the under mentioned for their faithful support and devoted service. I trust that they will all be reelected, and possibly added to, at the Church Meeting. Team
